Well basically i’m impossible to surprise!

I pretty much had thought Randall was going to propose the next day on Monday… he had been letting me think he was going to come meet me in orange county after work. We had just spent the whole weekend at surf camp and he didn’t propose anytime there… so I thought he didn’t even have the ring. I was sure he didn’t run to the store between surf camp and going out to eat.
So we had a coupon to CPK and wanted to use it… We hadn’t ate since noon and it was 6ish and we decided to go to Victoria Gardens instead of the Plaza. As we were driving there Randall was insisting on getting Pinkberry and I was like heck no… i need real food! SO neither of us gave in. This was my first act of messing up his plan!
So we went to a furniture store, we were checking everything out and we sat on a couch and Randall put his arm around me and held my shoulder when I tried to get up and I was like what are you doing and I got up… That was me messing up his back up plan!
Then I was like can we just go to CPK?!? He was like … let’s go to coffee bean… I was really irritated because i was STARVING… i knew he was too… so in coffee bean these ladies kept saying excuse me to me and making me move, over and over… it made me really nervous! So when Randall got his drink he sat it down and put his hands on my shoulders and was saying sweet things…. and i was like “What are you doing… let’s get the heck out of here!” Yepp that was me messing it up a 3rd time!
Then he was like “can we just find a bench somewhere?” …as we passed like 3… At this point I thought he was just kidding me and trying to confuse me so he could propose the next day! So we sat on this random bench and he reminded me of this story a while back when we sat on a bench at Disneyland and talked about getting old together… and then he said he could picture us getting old and sitting anywhere together. I think i told him that he was just messing with me, but he pulled out the ring! He wasn’t kidding!
So I wasn’t able to mess up his 4th attempt. He had even called Pinkberry to make sure there was a bench outside!
He had reservations at the melting pot and that was why he was avoiding CPK! It all made sense at the end and it was totally perfect. AND I was surprised, because I totally thought he was just messing with me. Basically i almost ruined the whole thing.
